Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Just like the TV heroes, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo are popping out of a sewer grate to wish a lucky boy happy birthday.

The cake is chocolate and white with hybrid buttercream-fondant decorations.

Beach Birthday

 Just a small 9 inch cake, chocolate with chocolate mousse filling. Covered in buttercream basketweave and hand-painted white chocolate sea-shells.

Dino Cake

 For a 3 year old dinosaur enthusiast, this cake was done as half chocolate and half white, with a raspberry filling. Happy Birthday Braxton!

Black and White - Over the Hill

 An Over-The-Hill cake done in Black and White. Cake is Red Velvet with cream cheese icing filling and buttercream basket weave.

Roses are black fondant. The ferns and leaves add just a little splash of color.

First Birthday

 A whimsical cake for a little boys first birthday. Everything is edible. The turtle is a fondant-covered cake, and the side pieces are all hand-painted white chocolate. The cake is yellow and chocolate, with a raspberry filling.

A smash cake for the little one to destroy. A simple yellow cake (in this case sugar-free) with minimal decorations. The turtles are blue and green hand-painted chocolate.

Autumn Birthday

                                                                                  


 A birthday with an Autumn flair. Fall colored mums and Shasta daisies. Basket weave icing was done in ivory and juniper green.

Happy Sweet 16

A special Sweet 16 birthday cake for a special girl. Covered in fondant done in a quilt pattern, with black and white pearl insets. All elements of the cake are edible, including the handbag.

Tropical Birthday

A little tropical beach setting for a birthday celebration. Similar to our earlier wedding cake, this one is done in buttercream icing instead of fondant.  It is a white cake with fresh strawberries in the center.

Multi-Colored Birthday

 Soft Pink and White basket weave with two-color roses.

Hand-made gum paste roses in red, and antique white with a subtle pink  blush.

Happy 75th Birthday

Happy 75th! Antique white with matching roses, tipped in a soft pink. Basket weave with two-color rope border.

Still In The Race

Fun to do a whimsical cake occasionally. This one done for a 60th birthday was just such a cake. The cake was Devil's Food with chocolate fudge icing and filling. The top was green buttercream grass, and a race track made from sprinkles.

Birthday Stencil

This is our first attempt using a stenciling technique. It is actually black buttercream icing applied with a stencil applique.

We think it turned out very well, and there are hundreds of stencils from which to choose.

This is a lemon cake with lemon curd filling, and buttercream icing.

For a Horse Lover

A birthday cake for a Romanian gentleman who, after 76 years, still reminisces about his boyhood life with favorite horse, Cugal.

Milestones

 Combination Birthday (86th) and Anniversary (48th)

A special cake for someone who shares a birthday with Elvis, and coincidentally plays a guitar.

Roses roses

 

Don't often get a request for a cake with Whipped Cream icing, but this was such a request. White cake, chocolate filling with sliced fresh strawberries, and whipped cream icing. And, of course,  Dave's gum paste roses.

Anniversary/Birthday

A combination 47th Anniversary and 75th Birthday. Yellow cake, buttercream icing, and Dave's hand made gum paste roses. The small heart was detachable for the couple to take home while the rest was left for the luncheon.
